How does it work?
Purchase tickets in advance from a member of any tour partner organization, at a downtown location mentioned above, or on tour-day at any home on the tour.
You can begin your tour at any of the homes where you will exchange your ticket for a tour book.
The tour book includes a map with the locations of each home, a history and description of the homes, and information on our sponsors, the Montpelier Chamber Orchestra and our partner groups.
You may visit the homes in any order and at your own pace between 10 AM and 5 PM on the day of the tour.
Is there free public transportation on the tour route?
Yes. The Senior Center van, which accommodates up to 14 riders, will be circulating all day on the tour route. And the GMTA Montpelier Circulator will also take a special route to cover the tour that day.
What about parking?
Appropriate parking locations near each home will be marked on the map on the back of your tour book. All homes are easily accessible with street-side parking. Two of the homes are a short walk apart on each side of the Summer Street Park.
Are the homes wheelchair accessible?
All of the homes have at least two steps up to the main entrance and include multiple stories. Please call the MCO at 802-595-0087 and we will arrange to have volunteers to assist you in accessing the first floor of the homes.
What if it rains?
Each home will have volunteers to help with coats and umbrellas. You will be asked to remove your footwear before entering the homes.
Can I visit the homes more than once on tour-day?
No. Once you leave a home you cannot return for another visit.
Can I get a refund if I’m not able to attend?
Yes. Refunds will be given in advance of the tour from your point of purchase. No refunds will be given once the Tour begins or after tour-day.
Are there restrooms available?
There will be a portable toilet in Summer Street Park, which is the location of two of the tour homes.
