[!] Press Release: March 20, 2007 - Times Argus review of MCOS 2007 Spring Concert

Here is what one concert-goer recently said about the 10th Anniversary Spring Concert:
"And on Sunday, the Montpelier Chamber Orchestra... gave its listeners at the Montpelier Unitarian Church an unforgettable and soul-stirring treat as it played music spanning four centuries from Corelli to Diane Huling of Cabot, who teaches at Johnson State. I have been listening to chamber and orchestral music around the world for six decades and never have I witnessed a performance as stellar as this one. This is my third year living in central Vermont and I venture to say that on a per capita basis, the area enjoys a wealth of musical talent second to none. I hope others share my enthusiasm and appreciation for all the fine live classical, choral and other musical styles available to us."

SPRING 2005 PROGRAM - MCOS 10th Anniversary Concert
Sat. April 2, 2005, 8:00pm, Unitarian Church of Montpelier
Sun. April 3, 2005, 4:00pm, Unitarian Church of Montpelier

Come celebrate MCOS's 10th anniversary spring concert: EVOLUTION.
Since the group began with a desire to give string players a special home, it is honoring those roots with a program of all-string music. The music takes place in Rome-1714, Hamburg-1773, Berlin-1821, Prague-1875, Frankfurt-1927, and Cabot, Vt.-2005, thus spanning almost 300 years of differing styles in our musical evolution (Corelli, CPE Bach, Mendelssohn, Dvorak, Hindemith, Huling). To honor MCOS's founding director Diane Huling, the orchestra has commissioned her to compose a work for strings which will receive its world premier at these concerts. MCOS has also invited Vermonter now-college student at Baltimore's Peabody Conservatory Jesse Irons & two friends to solo with the orchestra.
