Anne Decker shares a multitude of interests, deep experience, and exciting energy in various musical projects and artistic roles around the state of Vermont and New England. Most recently, Anne has developed the innovative and refreshing contemporary chamber music series, TURNmusic, inspiring new audiences and collaborations with renowned living composers and performers. Ms. Decker is the Music Director for the Montpelier Chamber Orchestra, focusing on community connections and a variety of collaborations. Ms. Decker will also lead the Vermont Symphony Orchestra Holiday Pop’s Tour in December 2017.
Ms. Decker has conducted the Amato Opera Company of New York, Middlebury Opera Company, Vermont Opera Theater, Vermont Contemporary Music Ensemble, and served as Assistant Conductor of the Pioneer Valley Symphony. She was a member of the artistic staff at the Vermont Youth Orchestra Association from 1999-2012 and is a frequent guest conductor for regional music festivals.
Ms. Decker holds degrees from Western Michigan University and Illinois State University. She has studied with Glenn Block, David Effron, Charles Peltz, and Frank Battisti. Ms. Decker is a music educator, directing orchestra programs at U-32 Middle and High School in East Montpelier. She resides in Waterbury Center, Vermont with her husband and two daughters.
